The process of collecting mature rice from the field is called harvesting. It involves a number of steps, including:

• Reaping: Cutting the rice
• Threshing: Separating the rice from the straw
• Cleaning: Removing any remaining impurities
• Hauling: Moving the rice to a storage location
• Bagging: Putting the rice into bags

After harvesting, rice goes through a series of post-harvest steps, including:

field-drying, shed-drying, grading, storing, weighing, and milling.
